"Square nails have made a comeback and should continue to do so into the New Year with the influence of 90s fashion and culture," says Angel and Julia is a long-time fan. It's a shade that looks expensive and chic,” she says. “This winter brings the rise of the chocolate, coffee era," says celebrity nail artist, Michelle Humphrey, whose clients include Dua Lipa and Adele. We've seen latte nails, mocha nails and conker nails all take off for autumn, and they're going nowhere for winter. "I like to match these to the clients skin tone,” she says. “My biggest trend for winter is going to be reds," she says, revealing that she looks at the undertones. "Some of my most requested shades have been Màlaga Wine, Chick Flick Cherry, Black Onyx, Lincoln Park After Dark and Black Cherry Chutney," she adds.Īnd Harriet's on board, too. “From what I can see from client requests and social media the reds are really having a moment now,” agrees OPI Global Ambassador and celebrity nail artist, Iram Shelton. I definitely feel like it provides an elevated, chic look that everyone is loving,” confirms international nail artist, Julia Diogo. “Deep reds, inky reds and cherry reds are all big this winter, not only in terms of nails but also in terms of fashion. And luxury nail artist, Harriet Westmoreland, agrees. “I love pearl or mirror chrome over autumnal browns,” Angel explains. It “adds a glazed effect to a classic autumn/winter nail,” she says. But we've also seen some curveballs enter the arena, with airbrush aura nails, witchy manis and some offbeat shades you probably wouldn't expect for winter.
